Aaron Myatt

Senior Head Coach


Aaron has been coaching since 2008 developing his skills by coaching both boys and girls at a number of age groups. Aaron was the under 15 assistant coach in 2016 and under 15 coach in 2017, he has worked across all age groups from SAP to Seniors this year and shown his high level of coaching ability and versatility. Southern United have chosen to promote from within our own ranks and appoint Aaron as the Senior Coach for 2018. 

Olivia Groves

Under 16's Head Coach

Olivia is a young, senior WNPL player here at Southern United; Olivia is now into her second year of coaching and has already worked in a number of different coaching positions, including and still currently coaching at a men’s NPL club. Looking to always learn and with a number of coaching certificates already under her belt, Olivia is currently on her way to completing her C-License. 


Under 14s Head Coach


Debbie is a former Victorian State player and Matilda, Senior WPL Coach and FFV Hall of Fame inductee. She has made a long and significant contribution to the women’s game and is a very well respected member of the Victorian women’s football community.


Debbie began her playing career in Australia with Springvale at the age of 12 then moved on to Dandenong North, Dandenong, Berwick City and finally, Casey Comets. She was selected for the Victorian State squad and remained an integral part of the squad for over 20 years and was player/ manager with the seniors in her final years. Debbie was selected to represent Australia with the Matildas and in 1988 played against Brazil in the pilot World Cup and was again selected in 1989 earning 12 caps in total.


Debbie’s coaching career has been very successful and she has twice been voted WPL Coach of the Year by her peers. Debbie was head coach with Casey Comets for 15 years and just completed the 2015 season as Sandringham’s WPL as Senior Coach. She is noted for her strong commitment and development of young players. Debbie was also an assistant coach with Victoria Vision in the former Women’s National League now known as the W-League.


With a CV like this Southern United knew they had the right person to develop young talented footballers. One of Debbie’s key tasks is to transition girls from community clubs and get them to the level required to compete and flourish in a talented player environment.



Under 14s Assistant Coach and Goal Keeper Coach

As a goalkeeper playing at a number of consortium clubs Emma was quickly recognised as a talent and moved up the levels to play WPL. Emma has started down the coaching path working in tandem with Debbie to form a great coaching team and influencing future Southern United players from an early age. Emma brings experience and know how in what it takes to make it to the top level.

The development of the 2016 under 13 is a credit to the coaching ability and experience of both Debbie and Emma . Both coaches work in tandem to establish Southern United culture and instil NPL requirements.  Having won the the WNPL under 13 Championship Title and Grand Final in 2017, Debbie and Emma’s commitment to develop players at this level is second to none, and we look forward to what more they can achieve in the 2018 season with these players.



Under 12s Head Coach

John will continue on as our SAP Head Coach having taken responsibility for the role in 2016. A highly experienced coach in youth development, John brings his skill set to our youngest participants, and also mentors our assistant coaches involved with the program. 

Natasha Dakic

SAP Coach

Natasha is the captain of our senior team and has been with Southern United since 2016. Before she came to Southern Natasha was at the National Training Centre and was also involved in the FFV Talented Player Program in 2012 till 2014.
